‘Backstabbing for Beginners’ Casting News

New casting news was released today for Backstabbing for Beginners, the political thriller starring Theo James and Ben Kingsley.  Jacqueline Bisset will join the cast as the female lead.  The film, which recently began filming in Marrakech, Morocco, follows a young idealist (played by James), who lands his dream job working for the United Nations Oil For Food Campaign.  Bisset will portray a French NGO activist overseeing food aid.  Per Fly, director for the film, co-wrote the screenplay with Daniel Pyne.  The film is inspired by Michael Soussan’s memoir “Backstabbing for Beginners: My Crash Course in International Diplomacy.”

Bisset has been in the entertainment industry since the 1960’s, starring in both television shows and movies.  Her first major role came in the film The Detective (1968), when she replaced Mia Farrow in the role of Norma MacIver and starred opposite Frank Sinatra.  She has also been nominated for many awards, including 5 Golden Globes and the Cesar Award.
