‘Franny’ Chosen To Compete at Champs-Élysées Film Festival

Theo James’ Indie film ‘Franny’ has gotten a lot of buzz lately, first it premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, then it was announced that it would also be shown at the Nantucket Film Festival, and then we got the very exciting news that it was picked up for U.S. distribution by Samuel Goldwyn Films. You’d think that’s enough to make any Theologian’s month, but now we just got the news that Andrew Renzi’s ‘Franny’ will also be competing at the Champs-Élysées Film Festival against films such as Matthew Heineman’s ‘Cartel Land’ and Michael Beach Nichols & Christopher K. Walker’s ‘Welcome to Leith’.

According to Ion Cinema:

Conveniently taking place after a break from Cannes (06.10-06.16) the fest along with American Film Festival, Wroclaw, Poland host the U.S in Progress program, the three-day workshop which basically plays hosts to five American indie films in post-production and gets them before Euro distribution, buyer and producer eyes.

This couldn’t come at a better time considering ‘Franny’s international distributor, QED International, will be at Cannes Film Festival seeking international distribution for the film. It competing also at Champs-Élysées only increases the chances of it getting picked up and hopefully soon hitting theaters worldwide.

‘Franny’ will be entering in the Official Competition Selection as an American Independent Feature-Length film. It is 93 minutes long and has not been rated yet. The schedule with the complete screening dates, times and locations of the Official Selection films and events will be published on May 11th.
