Theo James Indie Film, “Franny” To Debut At Sundance 2015

Although the films that will premiere at Sundance Film Festival 2015 have yet to be announced, Ioncinema.com is predicting that “Franny” starring Theo James, Richard Gere and Dakota Fanning will be among them! “Franny” was developed at The Sundance Institute’s 2013 Screenwriters’ Lab and marks writer/director Andrew Renzi’s first narrative feature. The film may compete in the U.S. Dramatic Competition at Sundance 2015 which will be held January 22nd thru February 1st, 2015 in Park City, Utah. “Franny” will be looking for U.S. and International distribution.

“Franny” is the story of a larger-than-life, but damaged man (Richard Gere) who latches onto the daughter (Dakota Fanning) and new husband (Theo James) of deceased friends in an attempt to recreate his past. It was filmed last fall in Philadelphia.

Theo James filmed “Franny” and another independent film, “London Fields” after completing “Divergent” with Shailene Woodley and Kate Winslett. “London Fields” was picked up by Turkish distribution company, Fabula and is expected to have an early 2015 release. Based on the novel by Martin Amis, it was filmed in London and also stars Billy Bob Thornton, Amber Heard and Jim Sturgess. It’s the story of a femme fetale (Heard) who has a vision of her own murder at the hands of one of the men in her life, the abusive criminal (Sturgess) or the rich, naive married man (James) and shares her tale with a blocked, ill writer (Thornton.)

We’re very excited to finally have some news on Theo’s independent film projects! Follow us to stay up to date on all things Theo James.
