Theo James and Kate Beckinsale Confirmed to Return to Underworld 5
Although it was previously reported that Theo James’ future involvement in the Underworld franchise was a big question mark due to his current commitments and time constraints, it appears that scheduling conflicts have been worked out and now both Theo James and Kate Beckinsale are reportedly returning to the franchise in the fifth installment from Lakeshore Entertainment and Screen Gems. However, this new chapter will not be helmed as in the past by Director Len Wiseman, but instead by Anna Foerster, which makes her the first woman directing a female-led action-horror franchise. The movie will start shooting in Prague this October with the super secret script written Cory Goodman.
It was reported last fall that Theo James will also be returning to the franchise, reprising his role as the Vampire David. At that time, it was not believed that Beckinsale would be back for the fifth film. Today’s report, however, confirms that both talents will again star opposite one another.
Cory Goodman wrote the script, whose plot details are being kept shut in a coffin but which is said to focus on a new and younger generation of vampires and werewolves who are locked in a seemingly never-ending battle between supernatural races.
